Okay...so this is Dimitri/Kougarr, old character of mine. I decided to re-design him. His markings are based entirely off a set of markings I was fixated on as a child; I'd always draw them on dragons and in that sequence. I must have been like...eleven, if that. He has a human form also, like most of my characters. He is a shade- he can be in two places at once, and he uses this form and his human one to split. He can travel through dimension and time and alter reality. Textures are from here. This took way too long.  |

the coloring doesn't look atrocious, but i know exactly what you mean. so even if it was at one point on the original layer, because i know i do that all the time, you definitely pulled this together into a stunning piece.

His other colour was a green, but his skin is more green than blue now and it would look terrible and clash. Plus his markings are a headache anyway so I didn't want to make it harder on myself than I already had lawl. ;_;
Just to show you how bad it looked I think I'll upload the original one...here. I hate it because it reminds me of those really cheap anime pictures where the dodge and burn tools are abused. And it doesn't look...3D enough. The textures saved it though, gave it a lot more volume. Good thing us artists are good at improvisation.
